This is a fundraising video for the multimedia art/conservation/education exhibition Guardians of the Everglades.
Sarah Gulick and I filmed this during a few days in Florida early January, 2012 on behalf of Videotakes, Inc.

Thesis snapshot: Jackson Landers hunts Canada Geese

Jackson Landers helps the owners of the Glass House Winery in Free Unions, VA to get rid of three resident Canada geese, which have been eating the winery’s grapes. Jackson specializes in hunting and eating invasive species. (This is material from my thesis film ‘Close to the Bone’, which is currently in the post-production stage)

Jackson Landers, known as the Locavore Hunter, has specialized in hunting and eating different kinds of invasive species. Today, he is armed with a cast net and looking for pigeons in Charlottesville, VA. (This is material from my thesis film ‘Close to the Bone’, which is currently in the post-production stage)

Napo Wildlife Center

This promotional video was filmed in May 2011 by myself, Erin Finicane and Tony Azios. It showcases the Napo Wildlife Center, an amazing ecolodge inside the Yasuniì National Park in the Amazon in Ecudaor. This is a conservation project completely run by the local Kichwa Anangu people.

That’s The Ticket

In the fall of 2010, Don Fish and I worked on this incredible story about 102-year-old Kip Shannon in Iowa, who has worked at the Lake Robbins Ballroom for 80 years. The story was produced for AARP and Maryland Public Television, and aired on several PBS stations across the U.S. the following spring. Camera: Panasonic P2 HPX170.

The Torah

The first part of the winning entry in the Santa Barbara Jewish Film Festival Student Competition. This mini-documentary was shot on 16mm black-and-white film and HD video. Cameras: Bolex H16 Rex and Panasonic HPX-170.

Love Cats

I took my Canon 5D Mark II to the National Zoo in Washington, DC to test out my new telephoto lens (Sigma 150-500 f/5-6.3) on some really impressive cats.

First test with my new camera

Once my wonderful Canon EOS 5D Mark II had arrived, I immediately took it out to the park for a test run. There, I found a group of adorable deer to be my first movie stars.
