Who am I?
Whether you are a new visitor or if you have known me forever, a quick presentation is in order.
I have figured out that since I graduated from college in 2007, I moved a total of eight times. I have lived in Söderhamn, Kalmar, Falun, Jönköping, Paris, Nice and now the U.S. capital Washington, DC. This is where I am pursuing my Master’s Degree in Environmental Filmmaking, and I will graduate in May 2012. I started out as a video journalist and some of my previous employers are Sveriges Radio Kalmar, Sveriges Television Gävledala and TV4Nyheterna Jönköping.
I love the city of Washington, DC. It is so much more than just the White House, monuments and museums. I had an internship here in 2008/2009 and once I really got to know the city I immediately fell in love. That was also an incredibly exciting and interesting time to be in Washington, in the midst of the Presidential Election and during the stock market crash.
Right now, I am studying at American University and the dream is that one day my day job will be to travel the world and make environmental and wildlife documentaries. To that end, Washington is the perfect place to be, given all the opportunities that exist in this city.
It was tough enough to work in journalism, and the documentary industry may possibly be even worse. What did I get myself into? Maybe I just enjoy trying things that seem impossible or maybe I just do not know what “giving up” means. The only thing I know for certain is that I always dreamed of working with exactly this, but I never dared to take the plunge. Well it is happening now! If I die tomorrow, at least I tried.
